For my project I tried something new for me. I picked out a 3D lantern from Silhouette and filled each window with a Halloween scene, including of course a couple owls! This was a really fun project and I'm pretty happy with the results, so success, lol! And what could be better than this: when my son saw this he said "That has to be the coolest thing you've ever made! It's Beast!". Accolades like that from a 10 year old...who could ask for anything more, lol! I hope you enjoy it too:

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

When my mom was in the fight for her life battling breast cancer we were determined to keep a positive outlook and sense of humor. While not always easy to do, that's what helped get us through it together. Blessedly, she is now a 17 year survivor. I've noticed when you're going through tough times some people don't know what to say. Me, I usually go for the joke or say something to make them smile to break the ice and let everything seem normal for just a little while. I think these cards do just that. They don't shy away from the topic and will hopefully make you smile.

These two are done in pinks for breast cancer.
The card on the left I've entered into 2nd Annual Link Up for Pink!
The card on the right I've entered into Made Especially For You Sketch Challenge

These 2 I've done in different colors, suitable for anyone battling any type of cancer. I'm planning to send all of these  along with some other cards to a group called Card Care Connection. My friend Jennifer posted about this group and I'm so glad to have found them. They collect handmade cards to give to cancer patients.

What I've used to make these cards:
Cutting files from Scraptastical Kreations
Peachy Keen Stamps
Trendy Twine
Really Reasonable Ribbon
Paper- Recollections, The Paper Studio, DCWV, Colorbok and various scraps from my stash
The Paper Studio bling
HotPaws writing tool
Perfect Pearls Pens
Various inks and chalks
and my Cameo

Stop by over at Scraptastical Kreations and leave a comment about the cards and you'll be entered to win a file of your choice! Thanks for stopping by!

VROOM VROOM

Doesn't every kid have one of these cars? Before we had our son we used to laugh every time we saw one because they seemed to be everywhere. You can always find one at a garage sale or see them in yards that you pass filled with kids toys. As soon as our son was old enough we found a couple for him. He LOVED these cars! He could play with them for hours, "driving" around Flintstone's style, washing them, filling them with stuff, pushing them around. He's long past this stage but making this page has brought back so many fun memories.  He came down to my "crafty cave" last night and when I turned from my chair to talk to him he was sitting looking at this layout with a huge smile on his face. Old memories helping to make new memories...Priceless!!
