Scraptastical Kreations DT February Blog Hop

Welcome the the Scraptastical Kreations Design Team Challenge Blog Hop. Today we're going to be sharing our challenge creations with all of you. We thought it would be fun to do a hop to share all of our projects with you for this month's challenge, which is a sketch challenge and you can find the sketch below. 

To participate in the challenge, all you need to do is follow the sketch (interpret it any way you'd like), and create a layout or card with any Scraptastical Kreations file on it and share it with us by posting a link to your blog in the comments section of Kristy's SK Blog , or by posting it on our Facebook Fan Page HERE, or in the SK Facebook Group HERE. You must have your project posted and linked no later that 12 am March 1, 2013.

One winner will receive a $15 GC to shop with in the Scraptastical Kreations Store.

For my page I chose to follow the sketch closely and used a bit of a different color palette. The SK files used are "Element Me This" and "KISS- Love Me Tender". The papers are from Hobby Lobby, the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Winter's In The Air Hop

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but these projects are so delightful!

Now onto my projects, Yes, projectS! First I have a fun 3D snowflake ornament. For this beauty I used a cutting file from Scraptastical Kreations. I made 9 cuts of the same snowflake on glittered paper, scored them down the middle, folded, in half, then glued them back to back and there you go. For even more sparkle I topped it off with a white glitter edge ribbon and added some crystals and pearl dangling from the bottom so it shines from every angle.

My next project is also my blog candy!! It's a pair of snowflake and crystal earrings. The snowflakes are a base metal with crystals and decorated with Swarovski crystals, white cat's eye beads, seed beads and sterling twisted tubes on a sterling lever back pierced earring. These are hand made by me (another one of my passions, making jewelry).

Sweet Holly Card

Sweet Holly is an adorable digi from Sherri Baldy, I happened to win her when Sherri picked the name I suggested (thank you!). I'm still practicing my coloring technique. For this cutie I used PrismaColor pencils. It's a lot of fun and I look forward to picking up some more of Sherri's designs to practice and perfect!!

A Little Love Bug

Here's a fun and cute Valentine's card. This sweet little bear is from Scraptastical Kreations file "Little Love Bug" (original artwork by Kristi W) with a Peachy Keen Stamps face. Doesn't she just make the sweetest little butterfly?

I Love You So

 This pretty layout is a Pinterest inspired design. I just love going to Pinterest when I'm stuck. Whether it be for design, dinner, or a fun treat for school there is always so much inspiration to be found. Have you found me yet on Pinterest? Various Christmas projects

I'd like to share some various projects I made (some with a bit of help) throughout December.

This lovely shadowbox was a gift for my niece and her new husband. The picture in the frame is from their honeymoon. The words and flourishes are vinyl. I poured in some craft sand and shells which I think gives this a really neat look.

An ornament and matching card I made completely from paper with a touch of tulle (it's a little hard to see with the light background but trust me it's there ;)

Another ornament gift for a friend. Made with vinyl applied to the outside of the glass ball. I used some more of that swell sand and a couple of small shells to  fun it up some!

Here's another glass ball. This one has a picture on the inside and vinyl letting on the outside. For this one you cut a picture out roughly the size of the ornament, this one was 2 1/2" diameter. You roll the picture around a pencil, stick it through the hole then straighten it out, I used the end of a paintbrush to push it flat.

A snow measuring stick made with a large paint stirrer from Home Depot. We made this craft with my son's 5th grade class. They loved it! 

Another gift ornament I made. I painted the wooden oval gold and glued on the paper piecings. Yes, those flowers I made from paper, gorgeous aren't they? The cutting files are all from Scraptastical Kreations.

Lastly is this fun ornament my son and I made. Every year he and I make an ornament together for him to give family and friends. We try to incorporate a hand print or footprint to measure his growth. When he was 4 (2006) we made a snowman hand print ornament and we thought it would be fun to do it again this year to compare how his hand has grown. This is the result.

 The process, first coat your hands with non-toxic paint. He doesn't always look like such a lunatic I promise you.

Second, place ball in hand, third, wrap fingers around. Notice how that thumb is facing a funky way for a snowman??

After they dry, decorate them up! We used Sharpie Markers and Stickles. Some of the funky thumb prints became snowmen making funny faces, others were reindeer with antlers and some became polar bears.

A look at some of the fun and silly faces, hats and additions. Each one became a unique work of art. We made 12 all together. 

And here they are side-by-side made 6 years apart. We had so much fun doing this together. I miss spending time crafting with my fella and treasure the moments we still get to do it. Every year I hang these on my tree will always bring me back to these good times.
